One Student Allowance: A new system has been implemented where all student allowances will be disbursed in one place. This is referred to as the “One Student Allowance.”

The government has issued an order to consolidate and administer all forms of student allowance programs under the “One Student Allowance” program. This directive is a part of the state budget, specifically aimed at providing educational support to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This initiative aims to facilitate higher education for these students by providing additional benefits to various schools and colleges. Alongside these benefits, various forms of student allowances will also be provided to aid in their academic pursuits.

Good News for Students: Many children across the country are completing their education through the government’s student allowance programs. Now, in the academic year 2023-24, the government is introducing a new form of student allowance to further support students’ education. The government has taken significant steps to ensure the seamless disbursement of student allowances to their accounts.

Starting from the academic year 2023-24, various departments and public universities under the government, funded through grants, non-plan, endowment, grant-in-aid, SCP, TSP, OBC, and minority community grants, have been actively utilizing the State Scholarship Portal to directly credit students’ accounts with financial assistance, scholarships, and cash prizes, as per the directives of the Department of e-Governance.

High Education Department Directs Implementation of All Student Allowance Programs Through SSP

The High Education Department has issued instructions to educational institutions to disburse all forms of student allowances, scholarships, financial aid, and cash prizes through the State Student Allowance Portal (SSP). This directive aims to streamline the process of crediting student allowances directly to their accounts.

The state government, in line with the upcoming budget, has directed the High Education Department to consolidate and administer all student allowance programs under the ‘One Student Allowance’ initiative. Consequently, institutions under the department, funded through grants, non-plan, endowment, grant-in-aid, and other forms, will be required to disburse allowances directly to students’ accounts through SSP.
