Disabled people are not a burden to society. In recent times, disabled people are showing unparalleled achievements in all fields including sports. Thus, the feeling of being a burden to the society should be removed. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that it is the duty of the government to provide equal opportunities to the disabled in education and employment.

In this regard, a decision has been taken by the government to distribute 4000 thousand free tricycles to the disabled in the cabinet meeting in the country to facilitate self-employment and other activities for the disabled.

The Cabinet has approved the distribution of 4,000 free motorized two-wheelers at a cost of Rs 36 crore to eligible disabled beneficiaries.

Disabled persons should apply to get free bike from the state government, according to 2011 census, there are total 13,24,205 disabled persons in the state, district wise details of disabled persons are available in the following photo, based on this, eligible applicants should apply.

Free two wheeler application-where to apply?

District wise applications are invited for distribution of free tricycles to disabled persons. Beneficiaries are selected according to the target number of disabled persons in each district. Disabled persons with upper lumbar support should apply for the vehicle by attaching the LLR vehicle learning qualification document. The application should be submitted in the office of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens of your district.

Beneficiary Selection Procedure:

After submitting the application, all the documents submitted by you will be scrutinized and then at the district level, the Zilla Panchayat will select the beneficiaries in a selection committee meeting under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and submit a report to the state government. The government invites tenders for the supply of wheeled vehicles at the state level and supplies the vehicles to the respective districts as per the target set by the agencies. After that the two wheeler will be given to the selected eligible beneficiaries.
