Tragically, on October 29, 2021, the renowned actor Puneeth Rajkumar succumbed to a heart attack. In his honor, this project is designed to ensure that individuals who experience a cardiac arrest receive prompt and effective treatment during what is commonly referred to as the “golden period.”
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, instances of heart disease have been on the rise, with young lives being cut short due to sudden heart attacks and cardiac arrests. In response, the state government, under the guidance of Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar, is launching the hrudaya Jyoti initiative.

This project holds a special place as it commemorates the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who lost his life to the very same heart ailment. Through this endeavor, the State Health Department aims to raise awareness about heart disease and establish an efficient treatment framework for the people. It is noteworthy that this project is set to kick off this November.
Hospitals and Facilities:
A total of 16 super-specialty hospitals, along with 85 district and taluk hospitals across the state, will be part of the scheme’s implementation.
In these 16 super-specialty hospitals, including esteemed institutions like Jayadeva Heart Institute and Medical College Hospitals, 10 hubs have been established. Individuals experiencing chest pain who visit these centers will undergo an immediate ECG. Additionally, thanks to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, it will take a mere four to five minutes to determine whether their condition is critical or not. Private organizations have played a crucial role in implementing AI technology to swiftly identify critical issues.
