Karnataka Government Budget 2022-23 in Proclamation No. 391 has announced that the “Concessional bus pass scheme for construction workers currently in effect in Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation will be extended across the state by the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board”. In this regard, reference-1 The current government has approved and issued an order to extend this project across the state on behalf of the Karnataka State Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

The date of this pass distribution system will be announced shortly and will be implemented thereafter. Under this scheme, the State registered construction workers are instructed to follow the following steps for validating bus passes.

The passes will be issued by the EDCS only to the construction workers and other construction workers who are registered with the Karnataka State Registered Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. These passes will be issued online by the Karnataka State Registered Building and Other Construction Labor Welfare Board through the Seva Sindhu Portal of the EDCS Department of Govt.

Outlines of Bus Pass Scheme for Construction Workers

1. These passes will be distributed by EDCS only to the construction workers and other construction workers who are registered with the Karnataka State Registered Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
2. Karnataka State Registered Building and Other Construction Labor Welfare Board arrange to issue these passes online through the Seva Sindhu Portal of EDCS Department, Govt.
3. The registered workers of the Board, irrespective of the district they are registered in, will be allowed to travel in Corporation buses for free from the starting point mentioned in the pass of their choice (within the scope of Kararasa Nigam, Wakarasa Nigam, and Kakarasa Nigams) i.e. up to 07 stages (maximum 45 km) from the starting place.

4. EDCS Department / Seva Sindhu Portal will arrange to distribute free bus pass to the registered construction workers of the state through Karnataka One / Gramseva One centers across the state.

4. Smart card (with QR code) type bus passes with the logo/name of Kararasanigam, Vakarasa organization, and Kakarasanigam will be distributed through the service system. (Contains sample form).
