Recently, misleading messages are circulating on platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook. They claim that under the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers will receive a 50% subsidy to purchase large tractors ranging from 25 to 50 HP.
Fraudsters have gone a step further by sharing fake images of tractors being distributed to some farmers. They provide mobile numbers saying, “Contact us immediately if you want this scheme.” When farmers contact them, they instruct them to download a fake APK application.

Responding strongly to this, the Assistant Director of Agriculture from Mudhol, Bagalkot district, shared the following facts through a press release:
• No new orders: Currently, there are no new orders from either the state or central government regarding any tractor subsidy scheme. Information circulating on social media is completely fake.
• Warning about APK files: Fraudsters are sending APK files via WhatsApp. Once installed, cyber criminals gain full control of your phone.
• Bank account may be emptied: If you download the fake app, money may be transferred from your bank account without your knowledge. This is a major threat to your financial security.
• Police Department warning: The State Police Department and broadcast media have already warned farmers about this issue.
