Definitions Natural Numbers • counting numbers from 1,2,3,4,5,……………. Whole Numbers • natural numbers including zero. They are 0,1,2,3,4,5,……………Integers set of whole numbers and their opposites. • …, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ….. • Zero is neither positive nor negative, but is both.
Rational Numbers • comes from the word ratio • A number is rational if it can be expressed as a ratio, of two whole numbers • Examples:3/4, 5, 2/7, 3.75, 0.2727..
Irrational Numbers : • Cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers. • As decimals they never repeat or terminate (rationals always do one or the other) • Real Numbers-rational and irrational numbers • Any number that you can find on the number line.

The Psychic Game • 2 points for every even integer • 2 points if the product of all the numbers is negative • 5 points for at least two negative integers • 5 points if one of the numbers is 0 • 10 points if the sum of the natural numbers is greater than 500 • 10 points for at least one pair of opposite numbers
